Sanger City is a United States city located in the Denton County, Texas, United States. The city has a population of 4534 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 7766, It is the 368th most populous in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.15 square miles (8.16 square kilometre), of which, 3.14 square miles (8.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 615th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4534 people, 1645 households, and 1220 families residing in the city. The population density was 1441.9 people per square mile (556.72/kmē), giving it the 349th most densely populated city among the Texas. There were 1750 housing units at an average density of 557.3 per square mile (215.17/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.72 persons, and the average family size was 3.17 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 30.6% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 or older. The racial makeup of the city was 4039 White, 138 Black or African American, 50 American Indian, 6 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 111 from two or more races and 190 Ohter races.
