Sanger City is a United States city located in the Denton County, Texas, United States. The city has a population of 4534 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 7766, It is the 368th most populous in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.15 square miles (8.16 square kilometre), of which, 3.14 square miles (8.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 615th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4534 people, 1645 households, and 1220 families residing in the city. The population density was 1441.9 people per square mile (556.72/kmē), giving it the 349th most densely populated city among the Texas. There were 1750 housing units at an average density of 557.3 per square mile (215.17/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.72 persons, and the average family size was 3.17 persons.
