Sandoval County is a county located in New Mexico, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. It is home to over 89908 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 122298, It is fifth most populous county in New Mexico. The county encompasses an area of 3714.32 mi˛ (9620.04 square kilometre ), of which, 3709.34 square miles (9607.15 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.98 square miles (12.9 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 18th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 24.2 people per square mile (9.34/km˛), making its New Mexico's seventh most densely populated county. Age range in the county was well distributed with 29.6% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.7 males. Its population was estimated at 122298 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 80.13% White, 2.94% Black or African American, 13.54% American Indian, 1.45% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, and 1.82% from two or more races.
