San Marcos City is a city located in the Caldwell, Guadalupe and Hays counties, Texas, United States. In 2000, the population was 34733. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 52927, It is Texas's 72nd largest by population . According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 18.32 sq mi (47.45 square kilometre), of which, 18.21 square miles (47.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 134th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.
