In 2000, the population was 2959. giving it the 713th largest population among California. It covers total area of 1.33 square miles (3.44 square kilometre), of which, 1.22 square miles (3.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 170th smallest by area in the U.S. state of California.
