San Carlos City is a city in the San Mateo County, California, United States. The population of the city was 27718 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 27238, It is the 250th most populous in the U.S. state of California. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.93 square miles (15.36 square kilometre), of which, 5.92 square miles (15.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 486th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.
