San Buenaventura (ventura) City had an official population of 100916 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 103706, giving it the 56th largest population among California. The city spans an area of 32.66 mi˛ (84.59 square kilometre), of which, 21.07 square miles (54.57 square kilometre) of it is land and 11.59 square miles (30.02 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 77th largest by total area among California.
