San Bernardino County is one of the 58 county of California, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the county was 1709434 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2015355, It is the fifth largest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 20105.32 square miles (52072.54 square kilometre ), of which, 20052.5 square miles (51935.74 square kilometre) of it is land and 52.82 square miles (136.8 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the largest by total area among California's county.

The population density was 85.2 people per square mile (32.9/kmē), it is the 31st most populated county in terms of population density. There were 601369 housing units at an average density of 30 per square mile (11.58/kmē). The average household size was 3.15 and the average family size was 3.58. In the county Population was distributed with 32.3% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 2015355, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 1617955 White, 189031 Black or African American, 29708 American Indian, 119743 Asian, 7647 Native Hawaiian, and 51271 from two or more races.
