Samson City, Geneva County, Alabama is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 2071 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2029, It is the 188th most populous in the U.S. state of Alabama. The city spans an area of 3.63 sq mi (9.4 square kilometre), of which, 3.62 square miles (9.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Alabama's 294th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2071 residents, 894 households, and 576 families in the city. The population density was 572.1 people per square mile (220.89/kmē), it is Alabama's 111th most densely populated city. There were 1016 housing units at an average density of 280.7 per square mile (108.38/kmē). The average household size was 2.32 persons, and the average family size was 2.92 persons. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.5% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.5 males.
