Saline County is one of the 75 county of Arkansas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Saline County is home to 83529 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 98209, giving it the sixth largest population among Arkansas's county. The county has a total area of 730.46 square miles (1891.88 sq km), of which, 723.46 square miles (1873.75 sq km) of it is land and 7 square miles (18.13 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 28th largest by total area in Arkansas.

In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 98209, The racial makeup of the county was 91137 White, 4739 Black or African American, 513 American Indian, 655 Asian, 31 Native Hawaiian, and 1134 from two or more races.
