Salem City is a city located in the Harrison County, West Virginia, United States. The population of the city was 2006 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 2050, making it the 78th most populous in West Virginia. The city has a total area of 1.38 sq mi (3.57 sq km), making it West Virginia's 118th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2006 people in the city, organized into 744 households, and 413 families residing in the city.
