Salem City is a city located in the Washington County, Indiana, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 6172 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 6502, It is the 100th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 3.91 square miles (10.13 square kilometre), of which, 3.89 square miles (10.08 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 117th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.
