As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 854 inhabitants. It is 62nd most populous in Alaska. It is spread over 74.21 sq mi (192.2 square kilometre), of which, 72.05 square miles (186.61 square kilometre ) of it is land and 2.17 square miles (5.62 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 85th largest in terms of geographical size.
