Saginaw City, Saginaw County, Michigan is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 61799 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 55620 in July 2008, It is 25th most populous in Michigan. The city comprises an area of 18.17 sq mi (47.06 square kilometre), of which, 17.44 square miles (45.17 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.72 square miles (1.86 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 43rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 61799 people in the city, organized into 23182 households, and 15105 families living in the city. The population density was 3542.9 people per square mile (1367.92/kmē), making its Michigan's 55th most densely populated city. There were 25639 housing units at an average density of 1470.1 per square mile (567.61/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 3.23 persons.
