Sagadahoc County is a county located in the United States of Maine. The population of the county was 35214 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 36332, It is Maine's fifth least populous county. It has total area of 370.19 sq mi (958.79 square kilometre), of which, 253.9 square miles (657.6 square kilometre) of it is land and 116.29 square miles (301.19 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the smallest by total area among Maine's county.

The population density was 138.7 people per square mile (53.55/kmē), it would be the fourth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Maine. There were 16489 housing units at an average density of 64.9 per square mile (25.06/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.47 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the county Age distribution was 25.8% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.1 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 36332, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 34940 White, 509 Black or African American, 128 American Indian, 268 Asian, 22 Native Hawaiian, and 465 from two or more races.
