Russell City is a city located in Lucas County, Iowa, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Russell City is home to 559 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 564, making it the 446th most populous in Iowa. The city encompasses an area of 1.04 square miles (2.69 square kilometre), it is the 347th largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.
