Rusk City is a city in the Cherokee County, Texas, United States. In 2000, the population was 5085. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 5312, making it Texas's 339th largest. The city spans an area of 6.84 sq mi (17.72 kmē), of which, 6.82 square miles (17.66 kmē) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 320th largest by total area in Texas.
