Ross County is one of the 88 county of Ohio, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The population of the county was 73345 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 76073, It is Ohio's 34th most populous county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 692.96 square miles (1794.76 kmē), of which, 688.41 square miles (1782.97 kmē) of it is land and 4.55 square miles (11.78 kmē) of it is water, it is the fifth largest in terms of geographical size.
