Roosevelt County, Montana is a county of the United States of Montana. As of 2000 the population was 10620. Its population was estimated at 10089 in July 2008, giving it the 19th largest population among Montana's county. The county comprises an area of 2369.65 mi˛ (6137.37 sq km), of which, 2355.6 square miles (6100.98 sq km) of it is land and 14.05 square miles (36.39 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 29th largest by total area among Montana's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10620 people in the county, organized into 3581 households, and 2615 families living in the county. The population density was 4.5 people per square mile (1.74/km˛), it is the 18th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Montana. There were 4044 housing units at an average density of 1.7 per square mile (0.66/km˛). The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.4. The population's age distribution was 34.6% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.7 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 10089, The racial makeup of the county was 36.32% White, 0.33% Black or African American, 60.16% American Indian, 0.52% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 2.64% from two or more races.
