Rolette County is a county located in North Dakota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 13674 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 13657, making it North Dakota's tenth largest county. The county comprises an area of 939.33 square miles (2432.85 kmē), of which, 902.45 square miles (2337.33 kmē) of it is land and 36.88 square miles (95.52 kmē) of it is water, it is the tenth smallest by area in the U.S. state of North Dakota.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 13674 residents, 4556 households, and 3367 families in the county. The population density was 15.2 people per square mile (5.87/kmē), giving it the sixth most densely populated county among the North Dakota. There were 5027 housing units at an average density of 5.6 per square mile (2.16/kmē). The average household size was 2.97 persons, and the average family size was 3.45 persons. The population's age distribution was 36.5% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.9 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 13657, The racial makeup of the county was 25.06% White, 1.08% Black or African American, 71.12% American Indian, 0.6% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 2.09% from two or more races.
