The July 2008 population estimate is 56726, making it the ninth most populous in Arkansas. It has total area of 33.58 square miles (86.97 square kilometre), of which, 33.53 square miles (86.84 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the tenth largest by total area in Arkansas.
