Rocky River City is a United States city located in the Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population of the city was 20735 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 18900, giving it the 84th largest population among Ohio. The city has a total area of 5.63 sq mi (14.58 kmē), of which, 4.75 square miles (12.3 kmē) of it is land and 0.87 square miles (2.25 kmē) of it is water, it is the 182nd largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 20735 people in the city, organized into 9709 households, and 5441 families residing in the city. The population density was 4360.8 people per square mile (1683.71/kmē), making its Ohio's 33rd most densely populated city.
