In July 2008, its estimated population was 52811, giving it the 205th largest population among California. It has total area of 16.19 sq mi (41.93 square kilometre), of which, 16.17 square miles (41.88 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 203rd largest by area in the U.S. state of California.
