Rockingham County is a county located in New Hampshire, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 277359 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 297350, giving it the second largest population among New Hampshire's county. The county has a total area of 793.96 square miles (2056.35 square kilometre), of which, 694.96 square miles (1799.94 square kilometre) of it is land and 99 square miles (256.41 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Hampshire's sixth largest county by total area. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

The population density was 399.1 people per square mile (154.09/kmē), making it the second most densely populated county in New Hampshire. The July 2008 population estimate is 297350, The racial makeup of the county was 286630 White, 2574 Black or African American, 573 American Indian, 4714 Asian, 112 Native Hawaiian, and 2747 from two or more races.
