Rock County is a county located in Wisconsin, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Rock County is home to 152307 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 160213, It is ninth most populous county in Wisconsin. The county encompasses an area of 726.2 square miles (1880.85 kmē ), of which, 720.47 square miles (1866.01 kmē) of it is land and 5.73 square miles (14.84 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 49th largest by total area in Wisconsin.

The population density was 211.4 people per square mile (81.62/kmē), it is 13th most densely populated county in Wisconsin. There were 62187 housing units at an average density of 86.3 per square mile (33.32/kmē). The average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.5% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.1 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 160213, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 148588 White, 7099 Black or African American, 568 American Indian, 1617 Asian, 87 Native Hawaiian, and 2254 from two or more races.
