Robinson City is a city located in the Crawford County, Illinois, United States. In 2000, city's population was 6822 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 6369, It is the 259th most populous in the U.S. state of Illinois. Its area is just over 3.69 sq mi (9.56 kmē), of which, 3.63 square miles (9.4 kmē) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, making it Illinois's 298th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6822 people in the city, organized into 2927 households, and 1836 families residing in the city. The population density was 1881.9 people per square mile (726.61/kmē), giving it the 361st most densely populated city among the Illinois.
