Roberts County is a United States county located in the United States of South Dakota. Roberts County had an official population of 10016 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 9851, It is the 18th largest in terms of population. It has total area of 1135.35 sq mi (2940.54 square kilometre), of which, 1101.28 square miles (2852.3 square kilometre) of it is land and 34.08 square miles (88.27 square kilometre) of it is water, making it South Dakota's 27th largest county by total area.

In the county Population was distributed with 30% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 17% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 9851, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 6386 White, 16 Black or African American, 3231 American Indian, 25 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 193 from two or more races.
