Roanoke City, Alabama is a city of the Randolph County, Alabama, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 6563 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 6688, making it the 87th most populous in Alabama. The city encompasses an area of 19.09 miē (49.44 kmē ), of which, 18.81 square miles (48.72 kmē) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 kmē) of it is water, it is the 53rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.
