Riverton Borough is a United States borough located in the Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of 2000 the population was 2759. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2627, It is the 140th smallest by population in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough spans an area of 0.94 sq mi (2.43 square kilometre), of which, 0.66 square miles (1.71 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 77th smallest by total area in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2759 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 4205.1 people per square mile (1623.6/kmē), giving it the 153rd most densely populated borough among the New Jersey. There were 1113 housing units at an average density of 1686.4 per square mile (651.12/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 people, and the average family size was 3 people. In the borough Age distribution was 21.8% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 112.6 females. The median age of the borough's population was 41.8 years, the median age of male residents at 40.6 and the median age of female residents at 42.8. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 95.83% White, 1.78% Black or African American, 0.11% American Indian, 0.83% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.16% from two or more races and 0.29% Other races.
