Riverton Borough is a United States borough located in the Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of 2000 the population was 2759. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2627, It is the 140th smallest by population in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough spans an area of 0.94 sq mi (2.43 square kilometre), of which, 0.66 square miles (1.71 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.29 square miles (0.75 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 77th smallest by total area in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2759 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 4205.1 people per square mile (1623.6/kmē), giving it the 153rd most densely populated borough among the New Jersey. There were 1113 housing units at an average density of 1686.4 per square mile (651.12/kmē). The average household size was 2.48 people, and the average family size was 3 people. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 95.83% White, 1.78% Black or African American, 0.11% American Indian, 0.83% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.16% from two or more races and 0.29% Other races.
