Riverside County, California is a county located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the county was 1545387 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 2100516, making it the fourth most populous county in California. It covers total area of 7303.13 sq mi (18915.02 square kilometre), of which, 7207.37 square miles (18667 square kilometre) of it is land and 95.76 square miles (248.02 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth largest by area in the U.S. state of California.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1545387 residents, 506218 households, and 372386 families in the county. The population density was 214.4 people per square mile (82.78/kmē), it is California's 17th most densely populated county. There were 584674 housing units at an average density of 81.1 per square mile (31.31/kmē). The average household size was 2.98 people, and the average family size was 3.47 people. In the county Population was distributed with 30.3% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.8 males. Its population was estimated at 2100516 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 1756548 White, 140469 Black or African American, 29709 American Indian, 115881 Asian, 7803 Native Hawaiian, and 50106 from two or more races.
