Riverside City is a one of the Platte County, Missouri, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2979. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2986, It is the 193rd most populous in the U.S. state of Missouri. The city extends throughout a territory of 5.67 square miles (14.69 sq km ), of which, 5.33 square miles (13.8 sq km) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 104th largest by total area among Missouri.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2979 people in the city, organized into 1222 households, and 727 families residing in the city. The population density was 559.2 people per square mile (215.91/kmē), making its Missouri's 268th least densely populated city. There were 1384 housing units at an average density of 259.7 per square mile (100.27/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.28 persons, and the average family size was 2.91 persons. In the Riverside City, 22.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 10.9% were 18 to 24, 32% were 25 to 44, 22.7% were 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.2 males.
