Riverdale City, Clayton County, Georgia is a city located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Riverdale City had an official population of 12478 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 15279, making it the 60th most populous in Georgia. The city encompasses an area of 4.27 sq mi (11.06 kmē ), of which, 4.26 square miles (11.03 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, it is the 194th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12478 people, 4389 households, and 3107 families residing in the city.
