As of 2000 the population was 2458. making it Delaware's 26th largest. It is spread over 3.57 mi˛ (9.25 sq km), of which, 3.39 square miles (8.78 sq km ) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 sq km) of it is water, making it the 17th largest by size in Delaware. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in Delaware.
