Ringwood Borough is a borough located in the Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 12396 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 12681, It is New Jersey's 128th largest by population . It has total area of 28.03 mi˛ (72.6 square kilometre), of which, 25.25 square miles (65.4 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.78 square miles (7.2 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's eighth largest by total area. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12396 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 491 people per square mile (189.58/km˛), it is the 33rd least densely populated borough in the U.S. state of New Jersey. There were 4221 housing units at an average density of 167.2 per square mile (64.56/km˛). The average household size was 3 people, and the average family size was 3.28 people. In the borough the population was spread out, with 27.6% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 27.9% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males. The median age is 37.4 years, The median age of males and females living in Ringwood Borough was 36.7 and 38 years respectively. The racial makeup of the borough was 93.87% White, 1.61% Black or African American, 1.44% American Indian, 1.19% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.21% from two or more races and 0.67% Other races.
