The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7905, making it the 145th most populous in Georgia. It covers total area of 6.72 mi˛ (17.4 sq km), of which, 6.71 square miles (17.38 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, making it Georgia's 127th largest by total area.
