Richmond County, Georgia is a county of the United States of Georgia. In 2000, county's population was 199775 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 199486, making it Georgia's eighth largest county. The county encompasses an area of 328.45 square miles (850.68 kmē ), of which, 324.04 square miles (839.26 kmē) of it is land and 4.41 square miles (11.42 kmē) of it is water, it is the 90th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The population density was 616.5 people per square mile (238.03/kmē), giving it the eighth most densely populated county among the Georgia. In the county Age distribution was 26.8% under the age of 18, 12% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 199486, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 87382 White, 104066 Black or African American, 696 American Indian, 3268 Asian, 306 Native Hawaiian, and 3768 from two or more races.
