Richmond City, Madison County, Kentucky is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. It is home to over 27152 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 32895 in July 2008, It is ninth most populous in Kentucky. The city encompasses an area of 19.25 square miles (49.86 kmē ), of which, 19.12 square miles (49.52 kmē) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 kmē) of it is water, makes it the ninth largest by total area in Kentucky.
