Richland Parish is a parish located in Louisiana, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 20981. The July 2008 population estimate is 20501, It is the 19th smallest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the parish has a total area of 564.51 square miles (1462.07 sq km), of which, 558.45 square miles (1446.38 sq km) of it is land and 6.05 square miles (15.67 sq km) of it is water, making it the 18th smallest by size in Louisiana.
