Rice Lake City is a city in the Barron County, Wisconsin, United States. As of 2000 the population was 8320. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8257, giving it the 88th largest population among Wisconsin. It is spread over 9.66 sq mi (25.02 square kilometre), of which, 8.63 square miles (22.35 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.03 square miles (2.67 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 61st largest by size in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8320 people, 76 households, and 48 families living in the city. The population density was 963.9 people per square mile (372.16/kmē), it is Wisconsin's 253rd most densely populated city. There were 3799 housing units at an average density of 440.2 per square mile (169.96/kmē). The average household size was 2.24 persons, and the average family size was 2.89 persons. In the city Age distribution was 23.5% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 113.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 120.9 females. The median age is 38.4 years, the median age of male residents at 35.5 and the median age of female residents at 40.5. The racial makeup of the city was 96.91% White, 0.13% Black or African American, 0.72% American Indian, 0.65% Asian, 0.12% Native Hawaiian, 0.79% from two or more races and 0.67% Other races.
