Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3049, giving it the 464th largest population among New York. The city encompasses an area of 1.63 square miles (4.22 sq km ), of which, 1.62 square miles (4.2 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 614th largest by area in the U.S. state of New York.
