Resaca City is a United States city located in the Gordon County, Georgia, United States. As of 2000 the population was 815. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 778, It is the 362nd most populous in the U.S. state of Georgia. Its area is just over 2.83 sq mi (7.33 kmē), of which, 2.76 square miles (7.15 kmē) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 kmē) of it is water, making it Georgia's 307th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 815 people, 263 households, and 189 families living in the city. The population density was 295.4 people per square mile (114.05/kmē), making its Georgia's 158th least densely populated city. There were 280 housing units at an average density of 101.4 per square mile (39.15/kmē). The average household size was 2.73 persons, and the average family size was 3.14 persons. In the Resaca City, 26.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 10.4% were 18 to 24, 27.9% were 25 to 44, 18.2% were 45 to 64, and 17.3% who were 65 or older.
