Reno City is a city located in the Washoe County, Nevada, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 180480 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 217016, making it the third most populous in Nevada. The city comprises an area of 69.34 sq mi (179.59 square kilometre), of which, 69.11 square miles (178.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 14th largest by total area among Nevada. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Nevada.

As of the census of 2000, there were 180480 people, 73904 households, and 41647 families living in the city. The population density was 2611.4 people per square mile (1008.27/kmē), it is the eighth most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Nevada. There were 79453 housing units at an average density of 1149.7 per square mile (443.9/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.38 persons, and the average family size was 3.06 persons. In the Reno City, 23.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 11.8% were 18 to 24, 31.5% were 25 to 44, 22.2% were 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 104.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104 males. The median age was 34.5 years, the median age of male residents at 33.9 and the median age of female residents at 35.1. The racial makeup of the city was 77.46% White, 2.58% Black or African American, 1.26% American Indian, 5.29% Asian, 0.56% Native Hawaiian, 3.6% from two or more races and 9.26% Other races.
