Redwood County is a county located in the United States of Minnesota. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Redwood County is home to 16815 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 15493, It is the 56th most populous county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It covers total area of 881.24 square miles (2282.4 kmē), of which, 879.73 square miles (2278.49 kmē) of it is land and 1.51 square miles (3.91 kmē) of it is water, making it the 25th largest by size in Minnesota.

The population density was 19.1 people per square mile (7.37/kmē), it is 56th most densely populated county in Minnesota. There were 7230 housing units at an average density of 8.2 per square mile (3.17/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 3.02. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.5% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.5 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 15493, The racial makeup of the county was 14274 White, 40 Black or African American, 669 American Indian, 305 Asian, 12 Native Hawaiian, and 193 from two or more races.
