Red River Parish, Louisiana is a parish of the United States of Louisiana. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Red River Parish is home to 9622 inhabitants. The parish's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9118, It is fourth least populous parish in Louisiana. It is spread over 402.08 sq mi (1041.38 kmē), of which, 389.29 square miles (1008.26 kmē ) of it is land and 12.79 square miles (33.13 kmē) of it is water, it is the ninth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

The population density was 24.7 people per square mile (9.54/kmē), making its Louisiana's 11th least densely populated parish. There were 3988 housing units at an average density of 10.2 per square mile (3.94/kmē). The average household size was 2.74 people, and the average family size was 3.23 people. In the parish the population was distributed as follows: 30.1% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.4 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the parish is 9118, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 5129 White, 3874 Black or African American, 33 American Indian, 10 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 70 from two or more races.
