Ransom County, North Dakota is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 5890 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 5628, It is the 22nd most populous county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 864.13 sq mi (2238.09 square kilometre), of which, 862.75 square miles (2234.51 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.38 square miles (3.57 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh smallest by area in the U.S. state of North Dakota.
