The July 2008 population estimate is 16714, making it the 380th most populous in California. The city has a total area of 24.71 mi˛ (64 square kilometre), of which, 24.31 square miles (62.96 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 115th largest in terms of geographical size.
