Ramsey County is one of the 87 county of Minnesota, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 511035 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 501428, It is Minnesota's second most populous county. It covers total area of 170.13 mi˛ (440.63 sq km), of which, 155.78 square miles (403.47 sq km) of it is land and 14.36 square miles (37.19 sq km) of it is water, making it the smallest by size in Minnesota.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 501428, The racial makeup of the county was 77.99% White, 9.7% Black or African American, 0.93% American Indian, 8.98% Asian, 0.11% Native Hawaiian, and 2.29% from two or more races.
