Ramsey County is one of the 87 county of Minnesota, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 511035 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 501428, It is Minnesota's second most populous county. It covers total area of 170.13 mi˛ (440.63 sq km), of which, 155.78 square miles (403.47 sq km) of it is land and 14.36 square miles (37.19 sq km) of it is water, making it the smallest by size in Minnesota.

In the Ramsey County, 25.6% of the population was under the age of 18, 11.3% were 18 to 24, 30.7% were 25 to 44, 20.7% were 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 501428, The racial makeup of the county was 77.99% White, 9.7% Black or African American, 0.93% American Indian, 8.98% Asian, 0.11% Native Hawaiian, and 2.29% from two or more races.
