Rainbow City City is a city located in the Etowah County, Alabama, United States. The city has a population of 8428 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 9324, making it Alabama's 65th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 25.31 square miles (65.55 kmē), of which, 25.13 square miles (65.09 kmē) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 kmē) of it is water, it is the 31st largest in terms of geographical size.
