Quitman County, Mississippi is a county of the United States of Mississippi. As of 2000 the population was 10117. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 8724, making it Mississippi's fifth smallest county. The county has a total area of 406.49 sq mi (1052.8 kmē), of which, 404.84 square miles (1048.53 kmē) of it is land and 1.66 square miles (4.3 kmē) of it is water, makes it the third smallest by total area in Mississippi.
