Pushmataha County is a United States county located in the United States of Oklahoma. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 11667 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 11710, It is 25th least populous county in Oklahoma. The county spans an area of 1422.78 sq mi (3684.98 square kilometre), of which, 1397.31 square miles (3619.02 square kilometre) of it is land and 25.47 square miles (65.97 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's seventh largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11667 people in the county, organized into 4739 households, and 3290 families living in the county. The population density was 8.3 people per square mile (3.2/kmē), making it the 12th least densely populated county in Oklahoma. There were 5795 housing units at an average density of 4.1 per square mile (1.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.94. In the county the population was spread out, with 26% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 24% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 108.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 110.6 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 11710, The racial makeup of the county was 76.78% White, 1.3% Black or African American, 16.43% American Indian, 0.14% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 5.29% from two or more races.
