Pulaski County is a United States county located in the United States of Missouri. The county has a population of 41165 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 44546, It is the 22nd most populous county in the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 551.41 sq mi (1428.15 sq km), of which, 547.02 square miles (1416.78 sq km) of it is land and 4.39 square miles (11.37 sq km) of it is water, it is the 67th largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri.

The population density was 75.3 people per square mile (29.07/kmē), making its Missouri's 20th most densely populated county. There were 15408 housing units at an average density of 28.2 per square mile (10.89/kmē). The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.13. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.5% under the age of 18, 16.6% from 18 to 24, 32% from 25 to 44, 15.9% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 112.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 115.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 44546, The racial makeup of the county was 36437 White, 5070 Black or African American, 512 American Indian, 1064 Asian, 161 Native Hawaiian, and 1302 from two or more races.
